Are Material Things Spiritual
By Joanie McMahon PsyD (ABD)
Spiritual communities all over the planet have had debates about whether or not material things are spiritual. There are many different reasons for this debate.
Some groups think having wealth is not God's way. Some think that it is going against the teachings of their religion to have an abundance of material things. Some have the idea that Jesus was a spiritual man who walked among poor people and was poor himself and so we ought to follow in his footsteps.
In some countries, there is a thought pattern that says you must accept and be pleased with your lot in life because it is karma. And so those people have stopped wanting material things.
Considering that law of attraction is at the heart of all that is, what comes to us is dependent on our beliefs. Our beliefs affect our vibration. And our vibration is everything in terms of what experiences, people and things will come to us.
This is a material-based universe, and most creations are gifts to the universe. For example, to have a refrigerator is something created by someone for the benefit of most people. Refrigerators have made a huge contribution to the well-being of our planet.
When you stop WANTING you have stopped dreaming and expanding into more and more of who you are in every area of life. Denying ourselves material things affects our sense of worthiness. It stifles and constricts growth and expansion as a human.
There is more about what I think about this. It is grounded in the belief that it is normal and good to WANT. We are wired for expansion and creativity.
